Erica Wright is a certified genetic counselor and senior instructor at the Inherited Metabolic Diseases Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She grew up on Long Island and has lived in Colorado for over 20 years. Ms. Wright completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of Delaware in 1999 and her masters of science in genetic counseling at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2003. She began her career working as a genetic counselor at Children’s Hospital Colorado in 2003. Ms. Wright has worked on both the clinical side and public health side of newborn screening. Currently, Ms. Wright is the metabolic newborn screening coordinator for Colorado and Wyoming. She has a strong interest in quality improvement in newborn screening and has worked on numerous grants and committees over the years regarding both short-term and long-term follow-up.
